lpeg.c:15:21: error: lauxlib.h: No such file or directory

You do not have the development headers for Lua installed on your
system. Install the appropriate devel package and try again.

On Ubuntu/Debian the required packages are:

  lua5.1, liblua5.1-0 and liblua5.1-0-dev
