[luci] Preferred server method

Hello,
I am working on a project using an OpenWrt router to serve data coming 
from an microcontroller running a PID control.  LuCI is great and has 
made it very easy to integrate my information into the web site.

My question is: What server method is the preferred hosting system for LuCI?

I've been using uhttpd+CGI which provides an acceptable level of 
performance, but then I saw the lucid daemon which is even better suited 
for my application.  I'm already using my own lua daemon to communicate 
to the microcontroller which could be easily adapted to lucid.  I didn't 
know if this was the direction LuCI was going, or if the direction was 
headed more toward uhttpd-mod-lua.
