[luci] network.lua:628: attempt to index upvalue '_ubus' (a nil value)

Hi,

I guess lighttpd runs as non-root so LuCI does not have enough
permissions to connect to the ubus socket.

Either make lighttpd run as root or chmod /var/run/ubus.sock to be
read/writable by lighttpd.
