[luci] Luci Module Development

A while back, the Luci build system went through quite a redesign. Since then when running "make uhttpd" this is the result:

lth at ncpws04:~/src/luci$ make uhttpd
Makefile:1: build/config.mk: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target 'build/config.mk'. Stop.

It builds fine as part of the OpenWrt build, but my question is - how on earth do you guys develop stuff for Luci. Having to rebuild OpenWrt or even just the Luci part of it to test every change is tedious to say the least. Is there a trick I have missed? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
